Wildlife Ambassador Program for Youth

Have you ever found a baby bird on the ground and didn't know the best way to help it? Did the latest storms knock down a squirrel's nest, leaving several babies without a home? What about the lizard that your cat brought in?

The Wildlife Ambassador series presented by NatureReach, Texas Metro Wildlife Rehabilitators, and the City of Southlake Library continues in June and July. The programs offer children 5 to 12 years old an opportunity to learn about the wildlife in their own backyards, local parks, and natural areas. The children will learn what to do if they find an orphaned or injured wild animal. Michelle Sager, NatureReach program director and wildlife rehabilitator, shares her extensive knowledge of native species. Through hands-on and interactive games and activities children will learn about the animals that live in the North Texas area.

Part two, of the four part Wildlife Ambassador series continues on Wednesday, June 24 discussing native birds. Reptiles will be covered on Wednesday, July 8 and the series finishes on Wednesday, July 22 with Mammals II. All programs are free to attend and run from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. at the City of Southlake Library.
