The Colleyville Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, October 6th at the Colleyville Center. Social time will begin at 9:30 am and the meeting will commence at 10:00 am. The program is entitled Lights Out for Wildlife and will be presented by Ben Jones, Executive Director of the Texas Conservation Alliance.
TCA serves to protect wildlife and wild places across Texas through community-based conservation, building diverse, grassroots coalitions to protect our untamed rivers, forest and prairies. Prior to this, Ben spent eight years with the Dallas Zoo, serving in various capacities. He provided leadership with Audubon Texas as Director of the Trinity River Audubon Center and State Director of Education. Ben serves as a board member or advisor for numerous conservation organizations, including Groundwork Dallas, the Big Thicket Association, the Texas Black Bear Alliance, and as a Professional Fellow of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. He earned his bachelor and master's degrees in the biological sciences and is currently writing a Ph.D. dissertation focused on the human dimensions of wildlife conservation.
