The Colleyville Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, November 7th at the Colleyville Center. Social time will begin at 9:30 am with refreshments, and the meeting will commence at 10:00 am. The program will be given by Barbara Lentz on Preserving Your Bounty of Fruits and Vegetables. We will learn about the different types of preserving, reasons to can, proper methods, and the USDA standards used in canning and preserving.
Barbara was a Master Gardener in Orange County, California. She helped design and develop a Youth Demonstration Garden at the University of California South Coast Research and Extension Center in Irvine, Calif. She took part in a two day intensive preserving class that eventually became the curriculum for the Master Preserver Program in her area. She has preserved for over 30 years.
