The Brain Club, a Coppell-based company that offers short educational courses for adults and children, celebrated it’s 1-year anniversary in January 2014. The Brain Club educational courses are offered using state-of-the-art technology and using lateral thinking approach. Courses were launched last year in Coppell and since had successfully been expanded to City of Colleyville.

There are variety of courses offered that are offered in the area of science, engineering, art, music, computer science, language arts and foreign languages. The courses for children are designed for enhancing children's language arts, creativity, abstract thinking and motor skills.

Some of the most popular courses have been Incredible Robots, Digital Art Creator and Simple Machines. In the “Incredible Robots” course elementary age children use LEGO education construction kits to learn principles of robot construction and programming. In “Digital Art Creator” kids interact with iPad technology to learn how digital art is used in movies, magazines, comics, video games while creating their original art. Using LEGO education construction kits, our “Simple Machine” course students learn important science, engineering and math concepts. They build fun models while learning core mechanical concepts.

For adults, so far beginner foreign language courses are being offered in French and Mandarin.

New courses are always being developed. “Visual Programming for Kids” is a new course that teaches computer programming principles using innovative and highly intuitive iPad apps. These apps use command blocks to help students understand logic. A variety of apps are used to solve puzzles and problems by manipulating command blocks and creating games. This develops a strong foundation for computer programming concepts.

In Coppell, The Brain Club courses are held at Coppell Aquatic and Recreation Center while in Colleyville they are held at Colleyville Senior Center. To register or to request more information about the courses/classes, please contact:
