Crews have begun the first phase of GCISD's 2011 Bond Project.

Construction began last week at three of the schools: Colleyville Middle, Bear Creek Elementary, and Silver Lake Elementary. Crews cleared sidewalks and started erecting fencing and environmental barriers at the schools.

According to GCISD, the bond program will address seven areas within the district:

  • Safety and security
  • Renovation/repair of existing facilities
  • Advancement of instructional programs
  • Enhancing the learning environment
  • Use of current/emerging technology
  • Efficient operational systems
  • Preservation of co-curricular and extracurricular programs

The changes will cost about $124.5 million. Voters passed the bond measure in May of 2011. For more information, visit the 2011 Bond Project website here.
