A Southlake attorney and two others died after their car crashed into an Irving canal on Wednesday morning, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Ronald Cary Eddins, 41, was from Flower Mound, but practiced law in Southlake and California. Authorities say a maintenance crew found a crumpled guardrail and debris beside a canal along West Northwest Highway on Wednesday and a luxury sports car belonging to Eddins was found mangled underwater in the canal. Authorities believe speed was a factor in the crash.

Two passengers in the car, Kaat Paul Debeuckelaer, 21, of Colleyville, and Kenneth Joseph Lark, 23 of Austin, also died. The Dallas Morning News reports that "a friend said Debeuckelaer and Lark were in a relationship, but it was unclear how they knew Ronald Eddins..."

Eddins was the founder of Eddins Law Firm, which focuses on litigation involving mesothelioma. He was married with two children.
