If you're driving through Colleyville this week, be on the lookout for a large vehicle equipped with cameras roaming the streets.

It's all part of a road assessment survey being conducted by the City of Colleyville. In order to gain an analysis of all the city-maintained public streets, Colleyville has contracted with Applied Research Associates, Inc. or ARA to conduct a street by street survey.

From December 5th to the 12th, an ARA digital survey vehicle, mounted with downward facing laser cameras, will travel throughout Colleyville and collect digital images of the roadway surface as well as infrastructure within the right-of-way, like signs and utility poles. The vehicle will move at about 30 miles per hour.

Information and data gathered from the process will be used to plan future roadway improvement projects and to improve the efficiency of repairs and maintenance.
