Carol Wollin files for re-election to Place 1 on the Colleyville City Council
Carol Wollin, a longtime community volunteer, was the first person to file at Colleyville City Hall to be placed on the ballot for the May 7th election. She filed for Colleyville City Council Place 1 to which she was elected in May 2007, 2010 and 2013.
Wollin said, “Colleyville is a great city and I have worked hard every day to make it even better. I thank the citizens of Colleyville for placing their trust in me to represent them on the City Council. I enjoy dealing with the intricate details of city governance. But what I have shown that I value the most are the opportunities to connect with the people I serve and listen to them talk about issues of importance to them.
When asked why she is running again, she stated, “I am running for the same reasons as I have in the past. Colleyville has made great strides and we are well positioned for the future, but there is still more work to be accomplished to keep our city moving forward. As our community develops, I want to be your voice on the council so that we can preserve its unique charm and protect the investment we all have made in living here.”
Her plans still incorporate the continuation of the citizen-driven budget model where citizens’ priorities and expectations remain at the forefront of city planning. Her focus continues to include public safety, economic development, improved roads and infrastructure, and financial stability, which consists of a sustainable and fiscally responsible budget that maximizes taxpayers’ money.
Wollin also says that quality leisure activities like library services, parks, trails, and youth and adult programs are of great importance to her. She believes in working together to sustain Colleyville’s tradition of excellence while preserving the friendliness of its small town feel.
Wollin’s extensive service to Colleyville has given her a unique opportunity to connect with fellow residents and gain a true understanding of the community. She is and has also been involved in numerous community activities for over 25 years, many of them in elected leadership positions. These include:

Wollin is a former Assistant Professor of Nursing and spends her time giving back to her city as a community volunteer. She has earned an M.S. in Nursing from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in Nursing from St. Olaf College. She and her husband, Rick, have been residents of Colleyville for over 25 years and have raised their three children here.
