The Denton Guyer Wildcat’s quarterback Shawn Robinson ran 71 yards for a touchdown on the game’s second offensive snap, and Guyer rolled to a 59-28 victory against the Plano Wildcats in a 6A Division II bi-district game Saturday at AT&T Stadium Nov. 15. The Wildcats next playoff game will against the Southlake-Carroll Dragons at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 22.

Grapevine vs. Wichita Falls Rider

The Grapevine Mustangs couldn’t complete a fourth-quarter comeback as the Wichita Falls Rider Raiders triumphed 35-21 in a 5A Division I bi-district playoff at Northwest ISD Stadium on Nov. 13. The loss ended Grapevine’s playoff hopes.

The Colleyville Heritage Panthers were defeated on Nov. 11 by the Hebron Hawks at Flower Mound Marcus High School. The Hawks rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate No. 4-ranked Colleyville Heritage in this playoff quarterfinals match.

Mean Green vs. Florida Atlantic -- Nov. 8

 

The Mean Green (3-6, 1-4 Conference USA) played the 1,000th football game at North Texas with a conference game win against the Florida Atlantic Owls (3-7, 2-4 Conference USA) 31-10 at Apogee Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 8. North Texas will travel to El Paso to play the UTEP Miners next on Nov. 15. The Mean Green next game and final season game at Apogee Stadium on Nov. 22 against the Florida International Golden Panthers (3-7, 2-4 Conference USA).

The North Texas 2014 Homecoming Parade was held the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 8 recently in Denton. This year’s parade theme was The Greatest Homecoming on Earth – Mean Green Circus.

The Grapevine Mustangs (3-7, 3-3 District 6-5A) defeated the Fort Worth Eastern Hills Highlanders (2-8, 2-4 District 6-5A) Friday, Nov. 7 at Mustang-Panther Stadium. The Mustangs kept their season alive with a 24-7 victory to claim the final playoff spot in District 6-5A. Grapevine Bi-District playoff game will be at Northwest High School in Justin on Thursday, Nov. 17 against Wichita Falls Rider (6-4) at 7:00 PM.

Colleyville vs. Richland -- Nov. 6

 

The Colleyville Heritage Panthers (5-5, 3-3 District 7-6A) were defeat the Richland Rebels (3-7, 2-4 District 7-6A) Thursday, Nov. 6 at Mustang-Panther Stadium. The Panthers kept their season alive with a 35-22 victory to claim the final playoff spot in District 7-6A.

North Texas 2014 Powder Puff Football

 

The annual Mean Green Powder Puff football event was played on Monday, Nov. 3 at Apogee Stadium. This was one of several events to celebrate 2014 Homecoming at North Texas. Other events include the traditional bonfire on Friday, Nov. 7, the afternoon Homecoming Parade and evening football game against Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, Nov. 8.

Grapevine vs. Birdville -- 0ct. 31

The Grapevine Mustangs (2-7, 2-3 District 6-5A) were defeated the Birdville Hawks (5-4, 4-1 District 4-6A) in a district game played on Halloween. The Mustangs remain in playoff contention but will need to win the last game of the season against Fort Worth Eastern Hills (2-7, 2-3 District 6-5A) at Mustang-Panther Stadium on Friday, Nov. 7.
